Jose Saramago a murit azi

Azi, 18 iunie 2010, la 12 ani dupa ce lua premiul Nobel, Jose Saramago, "Saramango" pentru unii cititori, a murit la venerabila vârstă de 87 ani, în casa lui din Insulele Canare, lăsând în urmă cărţi pe care le-am citit, precum "Anul morţii lui Ricardo Reis", "Intermitenţele morţii", interesant oarecum, ambele titluri conţin cuvântul moarte, dar şi cărţi pe care aş vrea să le citesc, precum "Eseu despre orbire", controversata "Evanghelia după Isus Cristos", "Memorialul mănăstirii", ...

Wasting my time clicking on the links of my mozilla bookmark toolbar I landed on imdb.com's main page. Jeff Bridges playing a country singer, Julia Roberts in another movie with the director she worked with on Pretty Woman. The usual stuff. On the right the gallery of the week. Variety 3rd Annual Power of Youth. Something pretty there too.

Since it's too late now to post hundreds of thousands of pictures with Ziyi, Keira or Christina Ricci, I thought a fresh face might be more appropriate.

It is Jessica Stroup, born 23rd of October, 23 years ago, star (or just a cast member, of course I don't watch it) of the new 90210 (Beverly Hills series).

For other pictures of her you can click here, but I strongly believe (like our almost president likes to say) that she showed her best at this Power of Youth gathering. This will probably be the last we hear about her, but to be fair with her looks, you can see a screenshot of how her character looks like in 90210 at the end.

Moviemaking Jokes

În unele filme, se ia o glumă, de obicei bună, şi se tranformă într-o poveste. Nu toate glumele devin filme. În Gran Torino, bun film, Clint Eastwood spune următoarea glumă, bună şi ea: "A Mexican, a Jew, and a colored guy go into a bar. The bartender looks up and says, "Get the fuck out of here"". Cu toate astea, filmul are prea puţină legătură cu anecdota pomenită, nu poţi trasa filmul prin ea, poţi doar remarca naţionalismul puternic al bătrânului interpretat de Clint.

În Annie Hall, bun film, situaţia stă puţin diferit. La fel se întmplă şi în alte filme de Woody Allen, dar deocamdată începem cu acest film, un film despre relaţii. Aceasta este abordarea scenaristului, şi citez din monologuri ale personajului principal:

"... important joke, for me, is one that's usually attributed to Groucho Marx; but, I think it appears originally in Freud's "Wit and Its Relation to the Unconscious," and it goes like this - I'm paraphrasing - um, "I would never want to belong to any club that would have someone like me for a member." Ar trebui poate să închei şi eu cu o glumă dar nu le putem face pe toate. Mi-a plăcut mult Annie Hall şi cele trei glume se potrivesc perfect. Sunt multe replici amuzante în film, am menţionat doar bancurile independente, şi nu mă pot abţine. La o serată în care încerca să socializeze a spus: "They did not take me in the Army. I was, um, interestingly enough, I was, I was 4-P. Yes. In the, in the event of war, I'm a hostage."

Vroiam să scriu astăzi despre o măsea care mi-a fost scoasă pentru că am văzut un film interesant, Ghost Town, în care personajul principal era dentist. Un film în care Greg Kinnear e o fantomă. Voi reveni cu filmul şi cu actorul, pe care l-am văzut în destul de multe filme în ultimul timp cu roluri secundare.

Dar... Ce s-a întâmplat? Radu Cosaşu a trasat linie bruscă peste gândurile mele. Cum? Păi... cum să vă spun, după cum ar trebui să ştiţi deja, am o slăbiciune pentru fabula, ştiţi voi, "scheciul nemuritor cu Caragiu". fabula aici.

Dumitru Solomon

Astazi ma gandeam la Dumitru Solomon. A spus atatea lucruri bune Dumitru Solomon intr-o carte numita Scurtcircuit la creier, inimaginabil cate lucruri bune. Era satiric, ca si Mateias interpretat de Mircea Diaconu in fabula cu Toma Caragiu, acesta din urma fiind elefantul pentru ca celuilalt sa ii iasa rima. vezi aici.

Dumitru Solomon a scris ceva piese de teatru pe care nu le-am citit si nici nu le-am vazut puse in scena. As vrea sa vad o piesa de-a lui, precum si pe System of a Down live cantand Toxicity sau altceva. Rvenind insa la Dumitru, el scrie mai mult teatru absurd, cel mai probabil nu la aceeasi calitate ca si continutul cartii Scurtcircuit la creier, dar merita acest omagiu, daca prezenta mea la o piesa de-a lui se poate numi omagiu.
