A family determined to get their young daughter into the finals of a beauty pageant take a cross-country trip in their VW bus. The bus has some problems and every time they start it, it looks like they are in a bobsleigh contest. Kind of funny.The teenager kid is not talking for 9 months now. I don't think it's the same reason as in Bergman's Persona. Anyway, when the suicidal uncle enters his room he sees something on the wall and he asks: "Who is that? Nietzsche? So you stopped talking because of Friedrich Nietzsche?"
Another line that caught my attention was when they were stopped by a cop. Then the father, who will tell you about winners and losers in the film, stops the car and goes like this: "Oh my God, I'm getting pulled over. Everyone, just... pretend to be normal."
